Rescue & Retirement Equine Program
Providing a Peaceful Sanctuary for Horses and the Individuals We Serve
At Autism Trust USA, our mission is centered around creating safe, compassionate environments where individuals with autism can thrive. As part of that mission, we believe in extending the same compassion and care to animals who have spent their lives giving to others.
Through our Rescue & Retirement Equine Program, we provide a peaceful home for senior and rescued horses who deserve comfort, dignity, and love during their remaining years.
These gentle giants are not here to work or perform. They are not ridden or used for activities. Instead, they are simply allowed to enjoy a quiet, safe retirement — grazing, resting, and being cared for in an environment where they are valued and loved.
A Sanctuary for Horses
A Meaningful Place for Our Residents
The presence of these horses brings something very special to our property.
Their calm and gentle nature adds to the peaceful atmosphere of our community and provides our residents with opportunities for quiet connection, companionship, and moments of joy. Simply sharing the land with these incredible animals creates a sense of calm and belonging.
Our adults with autism also take great pride and joy in helping care for these horses. Through simple daily tasks such as assisting with feeding, grooming, and tending to their needs, our residents experience the fulfillment that comes from caring for another living being.
The horses provide opportunities for responsibility, routine, connection, and purpose. In return, our residents provide these horses with the love, attention, and compassion they deserve.
It is a beautiful partnership — rescued horses finding a safe place to retire while bringing happiness, meaning, and connection to the individuals who call Autism Trust USA home.
Our Rescue Horses
We currently provide lifelong care for two rescued horses who have found their forever home with us- Gee and Stellar. Over the years, we have also cared for additional senior horses (Keto, Paleo and Vegan), who sadly passed away due to old age.
Each horse who comes to us has a story. Some have experienced neglect, hardship, or uncertainty. Our goal is to give them what every animal deserves: safety, nourishment, companionship, and a peaceful place to call home.
Our Vision: Expanding Our Equine Sanctuary
As we continue to grow, our dream is to expand our facilities by building additional stables and creating space for more senior and rescue horses in need.
With the support of our donors, we hope to provide:
Safe and comfortable retirement spaces for ageing horses
Daily nutrition and compassionate care
Veterinary support and medical needs
Pasture areas where horses can live peacefully
Opportunities for our residents to participate in meaningful animal care
A nurturing environment where both horses and humans can experience connection and belonging

Your donations matter
Autism Trust USA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
All donations are 100% tax-deductible as allowed by law.
We prioritize transparency, security, and impact. At Autism Trust USA, donations are not simply contributions; they are the foundation that makes our mission possible. The facilities we are planning for 2026 are essential to addressing one of the greatest unmet needs in the autism community: safe, supportive, and sustainable living environments for adults and families. From accessible housing to vocational and life-skills spaces, every aspect of our development is designed to promote independence, dignity, and long-term stability.
As a non-profit, we strive to become independent and self-sufficient in the plans and forecasts going forward. To achieve this, for now, we rely on donor support to move these critical projects moving forward. Donations directly fund construction, accessibility modifications, infrastructure improvements, and specialized spaces that public funding and insurance programs do not adequately cover. Without philanthropic support, these life-changing developments simply cannot happen.
